Wanted: these black and white boots from Tiger of Sweden

The black and white shoe, although not an entirely new innovation in footwear, has been enjoying a surge in popularity ever since Stella McCartney's biodegradable black and white pumps exploded onto e-commerce sites and fashion blogs in the fall of 2012. It's not hard to see why—black and white is an elegant colour pairing that looks great on everyone, and the white contrasting sole lends otherwise predictable black pumps some much needed edge.

Since the brand's birth in 1903 and revitalization in 1993, Tiger of Sweden has made a name for itself by producing sharply tailored menswear and menswear-inspired womenswear. Featuring clean and modern silhouettes with a hint of swagger, the label's high quality offerings are especially suitable for the funkier members of the Bay Street contingent—tattooed dudes in bespoke suits and their well-tanned interior designer honeys.

The Vivi boot, from the fall winter 2013 collection, is by far one of its most memorable pieces. Its sharply pointed toe is my preferred shape for footwear as it elongates the legs much more than its almond or square-toe cousins. The adjustable ankle straps with black metal hardware, and full leather interior gives the shoes comfort and function, while the white heels and outsoles make it 100% more striking than it would have been otherwise.
