Toronto Taste celebrates 25 years with an impressive chef lineup for this weekend's fundraiser

Before night markets and popup festivals took over Toronto’s event landscape, there was one premiere chefs-in-white-jackets event that brought together the city’s best restaurateurs and producers.

This year, Toronto Taste celebrates 25 years of working with Second Harvest’s food rescue program to create one of the city’s most praised food and drink events. Over 50 food and beverage stations will take over the Corus Quay complex (inside and out) and feature producers and chefs from all corners of the province. The event was originally held in Yorkville, then moved to the ROM for a number of years before finding a new home lakeside in 2014.

One of last year's popular items at the event. A lobster and octopus caesar shooter from The Chase restaurant.

Some of the chefs from the original1989 event will also be returning: Mark McEwan (ByMark), Keith Frogett (Scaramouche), John Higgins (George Brown) to name a few. Newcomers to the show include the freshly launched Kasa Moto restaurant and Carbon Bar. Chef Eric Wood will also be previewing his upcoming Maple Leaf Tavern project.

The event is a fundraiser for Second Harvest. Each ticket purchased enables Second Harvest to rescue and deliver food for 500 meals. Over the last 25 years, Toronto Taste has raised more than $10,300,000 for the program.

Toronto Taste takes place this Sunday, June 7, at Lakeside, Corus Quay at 25 Dockside Dr.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased online.
