Toronto Police have arrested a casino dealer for cheating

The Ontario Provincial Police Investigation and Enforcement Bureau have charged a table games dealer who was allegedly colluding with four other people to cheat at a Toronto casino.

A news release issued Tuesday stated that in October of 2022, the OPP in collaboration with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, were notified of allegations made against a the dealer at Casino Woodbine located at 555 Rexdale Boulevard in Etobicoke.

Arthur Segovia 52, of Etobicoke, has been charged with criminal breach of trust, cheat at play, theft over $5,000, and fraud over $5,000.

Khalil Evans, 29, Donovan Smyth-Todd, 30, Daniel Hatton, 25  all of  Toronto and Andrew Gayle-Bourne, 33 of Oakville. have been charged with theft and fraud over $5,000 and cheat at play.

Bill Dickson, media relations spokesperson for the OPP told the Toronto Sun that this was not the first time he had seen these types of allegations.

“I have seen cheat at play before,” he said.. “It’s not one that I’ve dealt with often. But whenever you get into anyone (allegedly) doing anything illegal at the casino, that will be one that does come up. It’s not one you hear everyday, for sure. It’s not totally unusual. But it’s not a case we deal with on a daily basis. Not frequently, not often.”

All of the accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in a Toronto  court at undisclosed further dates.
