After a harsh Canadian winter, Toronto enjoyed an evening of the warmth and culture of the Caribbean at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Toronto Benefit Gala at the Ritz-Carlton. Honoured that night were leaders of Canadian and Caribbean heritage. The evening ended on a high note with a musical performance by The Voice 2013 winner Tessanne Chin. Proceeds from the gala benefit the UWI Scholarship Fund for outstanding academic achievers who lack the funds necessary to realize their potential.
