Where do you go after you’ve conquered the city’s nightclub industry?
Hotels, of course.
Already an investor in the Pantages Hotel, Toronto’s club king Charles Khabouth has officially launched a luxury boutique hotel with his childhood name on it — Bisha.
It’s not the first time he’s put his name on something (Remember Charlies, on the southwest corner of the Guvernment complex?), but, with a $150-million projected budget, it’s certainly the biggest project he’s ever taken on.
“This is taking everything I know — all my different skills — and putting it in one project,” Khabouth tells the Toronto Star. “It’s something that hopefully will be around for my kids and grandkids.”
Aside from the hotel, the 41-storey flagship property will feature condominium residences, two bars, two restaurants, a 24-hour cafe, a 7,000 square-foot rooftop patio, and an infinity pool overlooking the city.
Khabouth teamed up with Lifetime Developments for the project and will be working with his usual designer guy, Alessandro Munge of Munge Leung, to design the space.
The hotel will feature two theme floors: Rock and Roll and Hollywood.
The Rock and Roll floor will focus on sexy blacks, reds, leather and lace while the Hollywood floor will be laid out with luxe finishes and lush greenery.
If you want in on the condos, they start from the mid-$300,000 to more than $1.5 million.
