Shoe Fetish: these affordable red boots from Young and Tae

After the holidays come to a rollicking close, we're in a for a long (and apparently difficult) winter without much reprieve. Our bank accounts are depleted. Our feet are lost inside bulky boots. It's all somewhat demoralizing.

Which is why, sometimes, all you need is a pair of comfortable riding boots in a bold oxblood hue.

Young and Tae was launched in 2011 in Seoul, Korea, but the newly-launched Queen West location is their flagship. It's a side project of Korean wholesaling brand San Marco, which dates back to 1979. Considering that their footwear is crafted from genuine leather, the prices alone are almost cause for celebration.

The Willow riding boots in red are easy-wearing, while the simple gold-toned buckles add a touch of equestrian chic. The boots feature a PVC sole that admittedly means they'd fare better as an indoor pair, but who doesn't feel more comfortable shedding their monstrous moon boot look-alikes for something a touch more streamlined. You can also consider them an optimistic look forward into spring, when they'd shine alongside a sleek LBD.

$170. Available online or in store at Young and Tae, 630A Queen St. W., 416-901-9887
