Second annual Toronto Food Truck Festival this weekend at Woodbine Park

This weekend, Woodbine Park will host the second annual Toronto Food Truck Festival

The impressive list of 41 trucks makes this the second-largest food truck event in Ontario after Awestruck 2013. That list includes established favourites like Gorilla Cheese, Localista and Fidel Gastros as well as newcomers such as FeasTO, Kevin’s Burger Obsession and Fit to Grill.

As a cherry on this gluttony sundae, the programme also features a slate of eating competitions. These include fastest to eat 20 doughnuts, first to finish a plate of spaghetti (no hands allowed!) and 10 extra hot wings in 15 minutes. Ben Freeman, executive director of Canadian Food Truck Festivals clarified that this “sounds easy, but these wings are super spicy."

Freeman shared the list of trucks that will be participating this weekend.

Last year’s event did well enough that the organizers added a satellite event in Pickering for 2015. So, if you have other long weekend plans, or just don’t get your food truck fix and want a second go-round, head to The Esplanade Park in Pickering on August 8 or 9.

Service starts for the Toronto event at noon and runs until 9 p.m. on both August 1 and 2. You’ll find the trucks set up around the permanent stage at Woodbine Park.
