Restaurant Update: Seconds for Caren’s, Diana’s and McEwan’s

The past week in restaurants brought news that second locations for Caren's Wine Bar, Diana's Seafood and McEwan Foods are either open or getting close to it.

Just Opened

  • Where Le Petit Castor once was, Carens Rosedale (the second location for the Yorkville wine bar) has opened.
  • Perhaps to satisfy nostalgic memories of Trader Vic's, the owners of Wrongbar have opened Miss Thing’s on Queen West with a menu of Polynesian food and cocktails. 

Coming Soon

  • As we reported, Diana’s Seafood is expanding with a 6,000 square-foot second location on Woodbine in Markham. 
  • Word is that this week will see Mark McEwan open a new location of his successful high-end grocery store, McEwan Foods, in the PATH.

  • After almost a decade of introducing midtown to mid-priced Indian food, owner Hemant Bhagwani has closed Amaya Indian Room for a concept reboot.
  • Table 17, the restaurant that started the current sea change in Leaside dining has closed. But the owners have big plans, including for the revamped Broadview Hotel.
  • Le Ti Colibri, Kensington Market’s longstanding and refined bistro has closed and blogTO reports the sad news that it will become a stoner cafe.
