With four locations from Downsview to Parkdale, the Toronto Tool Library encourages the sharing of resources within a community. Members pay a $50 annual fee and can borrow a myriad of tools as well as gain access to a wood shop and 3D printers.
A depot for everything
Located in Danforth east, the Sharing Depot is a library of things ranging from camping equipment to kids toys and party supplies. The goal is to reduce waste by getting multiple uses out of items people seldom need. Membership starts at $25 annually.
For the chef at home
Midtown’s Kitchen Library, at 120 Eglinton Ave. E., is a go-to resource for those who want to use the latest gadgets for their recipes but don’t have anywhere to store them. At $9 a month, they can borrow appliances ranging from pasta makers to dehydrators.
