North Toronto’s 10 Best Streets

Part of our 2012 Real Estate Roundtable

Bessborough Drive

It was no contest. In fact, there were no other contenders. Our experts agree, Bessborough Dr. is, hands down, Leaside’s best street.

Roxborough Drive

Many prized streets were mentioned, including Rosedale Rd. and Chestnut Park Rd., but in the end Roxborough’s leafy charm and warm reputation came out on top.

St. Leonards Avenue

Home to many of the city’s most prominent families and close to Sherwood Park, St. Leonards got the nod over Dawlish Ave., Blyth Hill Rd. and old fave Glengowan Rd.

Alexandra Boulevard

Simply the best street this neighbourhood has to offer, Alexandra Blvd. has the unique bonus of ending at Lytton Park Tennis Club.

Briar Hill Avenue

Smack dab in the middle of Yonge St.’s Sporting Life strip — the most expensive retail per square foot in the area — Briar Hill Ave. was the clear choice.

Rykert Crescent

Several homes on Rykert Cres. back onto ravines, and its proximity to Serena Gundy Park makes it ideal for nature lovers.

Drumsnab Road

Many of the city’s historic buildings are situated on Rosedale’s Drumsnab Rd., including the famous Francis Cayley home, built in 1834.

Summerhill Avenue

Home to Summerhill Market and within walking distance of the “Five Thieves” and Pastis bistro, this street is a clear choice for foodies.

Annesley Avenue

Tucked away from North Toronto’s major thoroughfares, Annesley Ave. allows residents to enjoy life in a rare quiet enclave.

Glengrove Avenue

This street boasts one of the area’s top public schools, John Ross Robertson, and is minutes from Havergal and Lawrence Park C.I.
