What is arguably Scarborough’s best oyster purveyor, Diana’s Oyster Bar & Grill started off in the former home of a refurbished donut shop in 2011. And now, it has alighted in a second location in Markham that will be twice its size when it opens later this summer. About time.
With a 250-seat dining area and lounge leading to a patio, albeit a small one, the 6,000-square-feet space has a contemporary yet conservative vibe. Expect 90 per cent of the original menu to carry over: its signature Chilean seabass, grilled octopus, steamed mussels pernod and eight to 16 types of tantalizing, fresh oysters ($1.80 to $5 each) including its consistently popular Kusshi — all on display in the middle of the square-shaped bar.
So what’s new? We can’t say yet.
But the vino? Very dry, as per usual.
The plan is to be open for business at the new location by the end of August.
