Michael Stadtlander's Eigensinn Farm hosts Christmas Market

Michael Stadtlander's Eigensinn Farm near Singhampton, Ontario is something of a bucolic figurehead of the farm-to-table movement. It's renowned as one of the world's finest dining establishments, while also representing an opportunity for city dwellers to abandon the concrete and return to the Earth.

The Annual Christmas Market has been taking place for many years, but continues to capture the old-world charm that Stadtlander says he associates with the holidays in Europe.

Come Sunday, December 22nd (12 p.m. – 4 p.m.), all will have the chance to experience Stadtlander's vision of a Christmas Market through take-home goods and lunch around an open fire. Admission to the market is free, and you can bring home soups and stews (starting at $10), as well as ready-to-roast smoked ham, duck and chickens from the farm. Sip on non-alcoholic mulled wine and hot apple cider (around $2) and pea soup, and enjoy grilled sausage from the wood oven.

You'll also be able to peruse new work from Steve the Potter.
