With Thanksgiving weekend now in plain sight, it’s easy to get excited about family reunions, turkeys and food comas. While all that is well and good, not everyone has the luxury of returning to an inviting home for festivities. Fortunately, uptown fave Summerhill Market has made helping deliciously easy, with dinners-with-all-the-fixings delivered for a small donation.
The gourmet grocer has teamed up with delivery outfit Instabuggy to dish out 200 gourmet Thanksgiving dinners on Friday, Oct. 7 and the donations will benefit Youth Without Shelter. They’ll be accepting donations (minimum $5) to help homeless youth across the GTA.
As for that meal — it arrives loaded up with free-range turkey slices of both dark and white meat. Buttermilk mashed potatoes, green beans (for your health) and maple-roasted butternut squash round out the plate. And the dressing — our favourite part— is all apple, onion and sage goodness. Smother it all in orange cranberry sauce and turkey gravy and eat up.
And ok, we get that it’s not quite a Lunch Pick. But, hey, Thanksgiving dinner starts early. Right?
Dinners are available through Instabuggy starting at 7 a.m. this Friday, Oct. 7
