Last minute Valentine’s Day reservations

True love waits. And you’ve certainly waited, with two more days left until Valentine’s Day and still no reservation. Stay calm: we’re here to help. We’ve found a few restaurants that still have open tables (though mostly for either earlier or later in the evening) and some first come, first serve establishments that just might be worth taking a chance on.

Corner House

There are still a few tables left at 10:00, 10:15 and 10:30 in Corner House’s romantic, cottage-style dining room. The three-course Valentine’s Day menu is reasonably priced at $78 and involves a surprise dessert.

Kalendar

With its perfectly dimmed lighting, cozy rustic aesthetic and art nouveau decor, it’s no wonder that NOW named Kalendar “Best Date Restaurant.” Better yet, Kalendar is first come, first serve, so you still have a chance at getting a spot—that is, if your significant other doesn’t mind the wait.

Scaramouche

While its dining room is fully booked, Scaramouche’s Pasta Bar still has a few spots left later in the evening. Its selection of grilled items, seafood dishes, and savoury pastas, in addition to its top-notch service and casual “uptown” interior design, will leave you satisfied even if your meal doesn’t start until 10 pm.

Foxley

With seating on a first come, first serve basis, this Asian fusion bistro and tapas bar may just be the place for your last minute Valentine’s Day needs. Its simple interior design — an exposed brick wall and warm lighting — offers you and your beloved a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy one another’s company, as well as Chef Tom Thai’s renowned dishes.

Torito

There’s something about sharing food in a small, intimate, and casual Spanish tapas restaurant that goes a long way towards setting the mood for love. And the opportunity is still open for all you procrastinating lovers, as Torito still has open tables at 5:30, 5:45, and 9:30.

Cafe Belong

Enjoy a special Valentine’s Day prix fixe—either a three course vegan dinner for two for $40, or a five course regular menu for $55 (with cocktail or wine pairing $82 and $135, respectively)—in the restaurant’s spacious dining room, which is replete with post-industrial charm. There are still tables available at 5:15 and 5:30.

Bannock

There’s nothing more romantic than indulging in some quality Canadian comfort food in a cozy, modern atmosphere. Tables are still available at 5:30, 5:45 and 9:30. Close by Nathan Phillips Square, you and your significant can follow up your meal with a winter stroll through the square or a few laps around the skating rink.

Amaya the Indian Room

Embark on a romantic getaway at Amaya, which is offering a special six-course tasting menu for $55 per person. There are still tables available for 5:15, 5:30, 9:00, and 9:30.

E11even

Fall in love all over again (or for the first time) in E11even’s stylish, yet cozy setting—think plush leather banquettes, wooden table tops and antique mirrors. The downtown restaurant is offering a five course menu for for $90 per person ($130 with pairing) and tables are still available for its 7:30 seating.

Yuzu no Hana

This upscale sushi and sake bar provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for you and your significant other. It's offering two prix fixe menus — a regular $60 per person menu and a $100 option. There are tables available for 5:00, 6:00 and 9:00.
