Kitchen Confidential: Fat Pasha serves a decadent babka that tips the scales

This tasty dessert from Fat Pasha, the third part of Rose’s Annex restaurant trilogy, deceptively packs almost a day’s worth of fat.

Anthony Rose, one of my favourite chefs, has opened another outstanding eatery, Fat Pasha. Its eclectic Middle Eastern cuisine is infused with a hint of Israeli, North African, Turkish and a good pinch of Jewish Eastern European flavours. The Nutella babka bread pudding — with maple syrup, labneh, shredded halva and toasted hazelnuts — is more than just a mouthful to say. With about one-third of your daily calories and close to a day’s fat intake, I suggest sharing this delectable dessert with a friend — or two!

If you’re looking for a bread pudding that won’t make you bust out of your jeans, my great light cappuccino recipe will save you a load of calories.
