Forrest Hill’s 10 Best Streets

Part of our 2012 Real Estate Roundtable

Briar Hill Avenue

While St. Clements and Castlefield Aves. are undeniably beautiful, the Tudor-style homes and warm neighbourly reputation of Briar Hill Ave. put it over the top.

Strathearn Road

It was no contest. In fact, there were barely any other contenders. Our experts agree, Strathearn Rd. is hands down Cedarvale’s top street.

Dunvegan Road

In a close race with Warren Rd. (home to the BSS campus), Dunvegan Rd.’s Georgian charm and celebrity residents gave it the edge.

Old Forest Hill Road

According to the pros, Old Forest Hill Rd., with its well-groomed centre medium, is the premier street in the Upper Village. Being close to the House of Chan didn’t hurt either.

Duncannon Drive

Right off the Eglinton Way, with its abundance of well-loved shops, Duncannon Dr. is the place to be for a shopping spree.

Millbank Avenue

Many homes on Millbank Ave. back onto the ravine, and its proximity to Cedarvale Park makes it ideal for nature lovers.

Tranby Avenue

Yorkville was the first designated neighbourhood in Toronto. As such, a number of homes in the area, such as those on Tranby Ave., date back to the 1880s.

Duplex Crescent

You can’t get much safer than a dead-end street that is conveniently located directly behind a Toronto Police Station.

Ridgewood Road

One of the only true dead-end streets in the area, Ridgewood Rd. allows residents to enjoy life in a rare quiet enclave.

Dunloe Road

Dunloe Rd. provides easy access to top- ranked Forest Hill Jr. & Sr. P.S., as well as private schools UCC and BSS and the IB- accredited York School.
