Foodie alert: Mario Batali in Toronto this weekend for Delicious Food Show

Early this morn, Toronto’s third Delicious Food Show got underway. Held in the vast expanse that is the Ex’s Direct Energy Centre, the show runs until Sunday evening and aims to be everything the T.O. foodie has ever dreamed of. In addition to showcasing a roster of fancy new products, the show boasts cooking workshops and demos, plus appearances from rather well-known international chefs.

Food Network names such as Mario Batali—who has just released a new cookbook, America Farm to Table—will be joined by the likes of Tyler Florence, Roger Mooking, and the ever affable (and yes, easy on the eyes) Chuck Hughes on the celeb stage. Local food trucks including Buster’s Sea Cove, Pancho’s Bakery and Rancho Gourmet, are dotted about the space.

Another noteworthy stop is Abbey’s Kitchen Stadium. The namesake Miss Sharp has gathered a gaggle of the city’s best chefs—including Victor Barry, Matty Matheson and Nick Liu—to battle it out for top dish. Guests can purchase their creations throughout the weekend and vote for their fave. Come Sunday afternoon, the chefs who have made it to the top of the totem pole will engage in a live competition to determine who is numero uno.
