The spooky season is so not just for kids. For adults, Halloween might be even more important: a rare opportunity to transform and let loose for a night. Herewith, five Toronto events just perfect for an adult-sized Halloween.
October is one of the rare times one can and really should dust off that Riff Raff costume and hit the Bloor Cinema for a shadowcast performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. You can throw toast! What’s not to love?
Too archaic for your tastes? If the ’90s is more your thing, there is always the very well-attended Fresh Prince of Bel-Air costume party at 99 Sudbury on Oct. 29.
If one is more inclined to masquerade-style evenings, Dufferin Grove Park is the place to be on Oct. 29 for the annual Night of Dread parade, at 6 p.m., followed by something called the Mockery. Sounds terrifying.
And we all love zombies, so consider Zombie Prom, a classic party at the Great Hall on Oct. 28.
Then, of course, there is Church Street in the Village, which gets shut down annually for what is quickly becoming one of the epic Halloween parties of the year on Oct. 31. If you can’t let yourself go at this party, you aren’t trying.
