Eating Guide: Front Street Foods market at Union Station

The Front Street Foods market at Union Station has plenty of tables, a great cross-section of vendors, and a liquor license. You have until August 30 to try everything, but here are some off-menu items and highlights to get you going.

Holy Chuck will have their standby burgers, but also look for special breakfast options here.

Holy Chuck
A burger for breakfast is a glorious thing, so if the grill's on before their 11 a.m. start-time, Holy Chuck will happily make one to satisfy your craving. If you feel like more breakfast-based eats, there's a 100% maple smoked bacon patty with cheese, homemade potato chips, a fried egg, and more of that maple smoked bacon on top. Or opt for two over easy eggs and homemade chips, all dressed with a maple chipotle mayo. Too light? Eventually you'll be able to throw on some foie.

Paleo enthusiasts will be happy to find butter coffee at the Hula Girl booth.

Hula Girl Espresso
As one of the booths that open at 7 a.m., there are plenty of baked goods and caffeine here to fuel your day. But if you're looking for an extra boost, ask for a hit of their butter coffee made with organic nut oil and well, butter.

A jolt of freshness (and colour) from Pekoe Kombucha.

Pekoe Kombucha Bar
On offer is a Valencia orange pekoe kombucha. Get it sangria style and find a spoon. Really refreshing both as a drink and a snack.

Station is on-board the cold brew coffee trend.

Station Cold Brew Coffee Co.
Even with their market-exclusive New Orleans-style sipper, you may still be seeking something with more punch. If that's the case, ask for their cold brew amped up with bourbon. (Update: This mash-up with the Drink Inc guys is still in the works and will be available from Wednesdays to Sundays.)

Yolo TO
These guys have a short card, but for an additional option, ask about a mashup and try their their po bao grilled cheese.

Wanna Banana
In celebration of Pan Am, Wanna Banana is currently running a special with maple and cinnamon that is reminiscent of a rice pudding. But if nothing on the menu suits, and as long as they have the ingredients on hand, they can mix up custom requests.

Greenhouse Juice
When you need a reprieve from all the sugar, fat, and carbs, head on over to Greenhouse for a digestive. Then return to more market eats, fully refreshed. It's about balance, right?

Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake
While the line is only slightly less ridiculous than at their retail location, they have the lemon madeleine exclusively at Front Street Foods to go with the usual cheesecake offering.

HotBunzz
No stranger to markets, these guys have a full spread that sells out by dinner time. If you're looking to snag one of their popular picks, don't snooze.

Doug Penfold brings midtown downtown with his Cava Sur booth.

Cava Sur
Mid-town restaurant Cava has temporarily come south to the market and offers Spanish inspired eats. Grab some of their pintxos and a drink for a proper after-work snack.

Little Fin
Get some lighter summer eats here. Soba noodle salad topped with a skewer of grilled shrimp is a great option.

A handful of vendors will be rotated into the market throughout August. Look forward to Caplansky's, Chocosol, Melt, and Uncle Tetsu Matcha Cafe.
