Drink This: the Bad Fashion from The Rude Boy

On Mondays, The Rude Boy on Roncy offers a burger for a mere $5. Set up camp in the front window overlooking the strip and indulge: this week's offering saw a beef patty topped with bacon cheese sauce, relish and jalapeno ketchup.

To match the burgers, a tight cocktail menu features twists on classic tipples. The Bad Fashion ($10) is — you guessed it — a take on the Old Fashioned. The classic version (which, on occasion, goes down a touch too easily) muddles sugar cubes with bitters before it's all topped off with bourbon and a curl of orange or lemon peel. This lighter, fruitier take sees sugar muddled with both orange and cherry bitters. Some house-made root beer syrup and Wild Turkey bourbon finish the drink off, resulting in a smooth tipple that's a summery alternative to the original.

With the sun drenching the table on a still-crisp afternoon, and a fruity beverage in hand, you may believe it's patio season — if only for a moment.
