Big Opening: Peace Collective brings their brand of hometown pride to Ossington

Almost two years ago, Yanal Dhailieh made a few t-shirts for himself and some friends to wear at a Toronto Raptors game. After constantly being asked where to get them, an idea for a fledging fashion store, Peace Collective, was born.

Peace Collective takes clean and minimalist designs and enables Canadians to show pride in who they are and where they come from. The “Home is Toronto” shirts and sweatshirts are a direct, relatable message, while the “Canadian Built” shirts may appeal to the more rugged who pine for clothes that aren’t afraid to display their nationalistic affection.

The shirts start at $29. Because a portion of their profits goes to provide school meals to children across the country, so Peace Collective has made buying local and having Canadian pride a feel-good proposition. For every garment sold, Peace Collective . And with the recently set up Peace Foundation, they have made a larger commitment to giving back, which includes charity events and partnerships.
