Temperatures are high, and come the weekend, Torontonians are keen to become country dwellers. But this doesn’t mean that palates have to suffer. Herewith are two amazing food experiences to check out while you’re on the road this Civic Holiday. (Are you eastbound instead? Check out our picks for that part of the province.)

Diners immersed in the pinespiel experience at Eigensinn Farm.
Eigensinn Farm
This summer, diehard foodies will make their way out to chef Michael Stadtländer’s renowned 100-acre Eigensinn Farm. There, Canada’s top farm-to-fork chef, along with his wife Nobuyo, son Hermann and 10 apprentices, will be treating diners to a rare experience that melds food with art (pictured) and a sense of adventure. Titled the PineSpiel Project, the 12-course meal series will see pine acting as the common thread between dishes — whether it’s smoked, poached or roasted. With each course paired with its own distinct dining room and art — including a tree house located in the pine forest — this promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event. #449357 10th Conc., Singhampton, 519-922-3128
The Glen Tavern
In Toronto, Scaramouche has been at the top of the pops for, well, as long as we can remember. But longtime chef-restaurateur duo Keith Froggett and Carl Korte wanted to serve up something a tad more relaxed to their customers. Cue the Glen Tavern, their relatively new country resto located in an old timber mill. There, Stewart Aylward — a Benvenuto Place transplant who oversees the kitchen — dishes out Aussie racks of lamb, P.E.I. filet mignon and, yes, a rather well-received burger (pictured above). The one carry-over from Scaramouche? That envy-inducing coconut cream pie. 515 Main St., Glen Williams, 905-877-7711
