It may be tagged as the most wonderful time of the year, but the holiday season is also known as chaotic, stressful and exhausting. So we decided to chat with the man who makes Christmas look effortlessly chic, Fashion Santa himself.
Here are his top five tips on how to survive the holidays:
1. Surviving the crowds at Yorkdale
It’s all about timing. The best time to shop at Yorkdale on weekdays is between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or after work around 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
If you’re planning on visiting me on weekends, I recommend coming early in the morning. Get your shopping done first thing and stop by for a selfie on the way out.
2. Where to refuel on an all-day shopping spree
My go-to for refueling is usually Starbucks because it’s near my vignette and it takes a lot of coffee to be Fashion Santa. There are endless food options at Yorkdale, especially at Dine on 3.
3. How to buy the best gifts without breaking the bank
Make it personal. Even if you’re a last minute shopper, it won’t look that way if you add something sentimental or meaningful to the two of you. A hand written card goes a long way.
4. Dress to impress at the staff holiday party
Holiday parties are a great opportunity to break out of your regular 9-5 uniform. Have fun, add some colour and accessorize. Just remember to pack an extra pair of shoes so you can dance the night away.
5. How to stay fashionable while keeping warm this winter
What winter?! I never know if I should bring a jacket or put on flip flops. Haha! Layering is the key to staying warm and fashionable in the winter. This way you can add or remove depending on the temperature inside and outside.
