Touhenboku Ramen will open its first 905 location in mid-November at 1070 Major Mackenzie Dr. E. in Richmond Hill.
Unlike the Yonge and Eglinton location, the 30-seat space won’t convert to an izakaya in the evening, but there is an open kitchen, so diners can watch noodles being pulled daily from an authentic Japanese ramen-machine. Specializing in sea-salted chicken broth (shio ramen), each bowl is served one of four ways: original, chili, garlic or light. Tonkotsu (a creamy pork broth) and vegetarian are also available.
No shochu cocktails here, just beer and sake.
Update: The Touhenboku location at Yonge and Eglinton has dropped the izakaya-in-the-evening concept.
