Date Night: Panamania is back with some A-list artists

The Parapan Am Games kick off today with the opening ceremony tonight at the York University stadium. That also means the return of daily medal counts, trafffic jams and of course, Panamania

Not as substantial as it was during the Pan Am games, but Panamania is back with a roster of free events at Nathan Phillips Square.

Though there may not be as many venues, the artists are just as fantastic as they were during the Pan Am events.

Tonight’s headliner is Chromeo, the duo behind the hit song “Jealous”. You know the one, “I get jealous, but I’m too cool to admit it.” They are scheduled to go on at 9:45 p.m.

And that’s just Friday night. The weekend continues with major artists headlining each night.

Saturday night, Jimmy Fallon’s in-house band, The Roots hit the stage. That’s right, The Roots are putting on a free concert at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday night. This may never happen again in this city so make your way to the square and enjoy it while it lasts. They will be hitting the stage at 9:30 p.m.

Finally, Sunday’s headliner is another huge talent, Janelle Monáe. Up at 9:30 p.m., she will be the final act on Sunday night.

Known for her hit song Tightrope feat. Big Boi (one half of the Outkast duo), this American songstress is sure to put on a great show.

If you can’t make it out this weekend, the events continue during the week. Each day the lineup kicks off around the lunch hour and continues into the evening. This truly is your last chance before the games have left the city for good!
