Wanted: this asymmetrical tee from Comme des Garçons SHIRT

All you scatterbrained guys out there who regularly show up to work with your hair unkempt and your shirt buttons not lined up—rejoice! Messy is in, fussy is out. Of course this doesn't give you the excuse to delve into full-on slob territory; food stains on your T-shirts will never be in style. But a little distress in your jeans or a wrinkle in your cuffed sleeves could do more for your swagger than you might think.

This is what I imagine to be the thought process behind the creation of Comme des Garçons SHIRT's Navy and Khaki Asymmetrical T-shirt. Constructed from three different colour panels of premium cotton, the asymmetrical tee features a deliberately misaligned crew neck and bottom hem. Visually, this small detail is striking, while the panelled design achieves a patchwork look without appearing crafty. Additionally, the subdued colour blocking of the shirt—grey and olive and navy—gives the garment masculine refinement instead of dubious clown vibes.

As a Comme des Garçons diffusion line, SHIRT's known for producing garments (mostly shirts, unsurprisingly) that are impeccably tailored and decidedly unconventional. The line was launched in 1988 by Comme des Garçons founder, Rei Kawakubo, and like everything Kawakubo touches, each SHIRT piece combines classic tailoring with innovative details and bold colours for easy-to-wear luxury.
