Award-winning designer Ross Mayer has taken his finely crafted daywear and cocktail attire to the north of the city, opening his second location in Promenade Shopping Centre. After Mayer’s previous Bayview location closed, clients were clamouring for another spot to call home, and as of late November, Mayer has heeded their call.  

As is Mayer’s trademark, his wares showcase bits of finely crafted details-such as zipper vents or double stitching on blazer lapels that set his collection apart from other retailers'. Pieces such as the tech zip detail jacket ($495) and skirt ($395) are equally suitable for work wear and cocktail hour.

Accessories such as necklaces (which can also be purchased on consignment in the shop), are quick ways to brighten up any of Mayer’s outfits for a hipper get together. And to battle the cold, look no further than Mayer’s red boiled wool overcoat ($1195), almost at full length and tailored to look like a cape, with full darting in the back to give the wearer a sense of elegant motion.  

The wares at Mayer cater to women with sophistication and an eye for fine details. “Our clientele is a mix of professional women who love looking good at the office—specializing in suits and dresses,” says manager Ramona Dascalu. “But we also cater to the mother of the bride or groom, and the older demographic looking for great cocktail evening wear.”
