Love is Blind

How Torontonians can get on the next season of ‘Love is Blind’ and other reality-TV

Canadians hoping to participate in one of Netflix’s most popular romantic social experiments are in luck. The streaming service is accepting audition tapes from adult residents of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland for the U.S. version of Love is Blind.

The show is described as a social experiment—single men and women enter soundproofed pods, where they “date” other singles and attempt to fall in love, all before meeting in person. The pairings are based on emotional connections and conversations rather than physical looks. Participants live together (separated by gender) and distractions, such as cell phones, are removed.

After about 10 days, the remaining couples who agree to move forward with their connection have the option to get engaged—this is when they first meet. After the engagement, the couple is whisked away on a “honeymoon” vacation, before living together for one month. If they survive this—then the wedding comes.

If romance isn’t your thing, Netflix is also accepting Canadian auditions for their other hit shows, including Squid Game The Challenge, The Mole, Too Hot to Handle, Indian Matchmaking, and Barbecue Showdown.
