So the timing is pretty perfect for the opening of the new Eres store in Yorkville, where women can find stylish and comfortable maillots.  “You know the French,” says the store owner, who goes by the name Vasilia. “They don’t want to look old.”

Blurring the lines between traditional and contemporary, Eres has been at the forefront in designer swimwear industry for over 40 years. Behind its minimalist design is a multitude of technical details that respects the female form.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re size 4 or 16, it works,” Vasilia assures. “The swimsuit feels like a second skin.”

The swimsuits rarely include any additional padding or wiring, but the support for those in need does exist. “It’s a mystery,” says Vasilia. “Only they know [how they do it]. The material is unique.” So unique, in fact, that it dries at a super-fast rate of four minutes.

The boutique also carries Eres lingerie, which exudes the same architectural and feminine aesthetic. Sizes for both swimwear and lingerie run from A32 to 38C. For those who need a little assistance in determining their perfect size, the sales associates are trained to give their fitting expertise.

Prices for range from $370 to $700 for swimwear, and $200 to $500 for lingerie.
