Weekend Warrior: Foundry 2014, Fashion Helps, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Dr. Seuss at Casa Loma, Clueless 90s Party

As March Break madness comes to an end, we've got a list of events to keep you in vacation mode. Dress up, dance and shout "Whatever!" at a Clueless '90s-themed party, kick off Toronto Fashion Week at the Fashion Helps fundraiser for Toronto homeless youth, or celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday at Casa Loma. On Sunday, we're hoping for sunshine at the St. Paddy's Day parade and maybe, just maybe, a quick sighting of Rob Ford dancing on an Irish-inspired float. Here's what you should get up to this weekend.

Clueless '90s Party

When: Mar. 14, 10 pm to 2 am
Where: Johnny Jackson, 587 College St.
Details: "As if!" Channel your inner Cher and Dionne at this Clueless '90s-themed bash and get ready to unleash your inner mean girl. Don't forget to wear your best feather boa and bring your oldest Nokia flip phone, because the person with the best costume could win 200 bucks. Get your tickets early—they're only $5 in advance.   

Fashion Helps

When: Mar. 14, 7 pm to 10 pm
Where: Cabal, 782 King St. West 
Details: Celebrate the start of Toronto Fashion Week with the Fashion Helps fundraiser for "The Fashion Project: This is Me." The four-week, image-building workshop will take place at Toronto homeless shelter Horizons For Youth, and aims to build the confidence of youth aged 16 to 24. The minimum donation is $10. Some of the evening's events will include a leather pop-up shop, as well as an after party from 10 pm to 2 am. 

Foundry 2014

When: Mar. 14 to Apr. 6
Where: 99 Sudbury
Details: The second annual Foundry music and art series starts this weekend. The three-week event brings together forward-thinking music and interactive art installations from local artists, and will see DJs and producers take over 99 Sudbury. A full series pass is $99 and a one-night event ticket costs between $20-$50. 

The Big Free Show

When: Mar. 15, 9 pm to 2 am 
Where: 3030 Dundas St. West 
Details: Quickly becoming a go-to venue in the Junction community, 3030 Dundas West will host this strong line-up of live music that will rock your Saturday night. Hosted by the Junction Craft Brewing, Exclaim! and The Lacquer Channel, the show willl feature three Toronto bands: Beams, Catl and Young Running. Arrive early so you can get in, get a beer, and get comfortable. 

Celebrating Dr. Seuss at Casa Loma

When: Mar. 8 to Mar. 15, 9 am to 4 pm
Where: Casa Loma 
Details: In honour of Dr. Seuss' birthday – you know, The Cat in the Hat – Casa Loma is hosting a fun-filled, Dr. Seuss-themed March Break. Each day will be jam-packed with storytelling, art exhibits, live painting, cookie crafting, film screenings and even a castle-wide scavenger hunt. Entry costs $27 for adults and $17 for kids. 

St. Patrick's Day Parade

When: Mar. 16, 12 pm
Where: St. George and Bloor 
Details: Looking to end March Break in a fun, free and family-friendly way? We've got you covered: the St. Paddy's Day parade is back. Spend Sunday afternoon in downtown Toronto with a day chock full of clovers, leprechauns and floats, and while you're at it, support the city's Irish community. Most importantly, don't forget to wear green!
