The entire Argentina soccer team trolls Drake after he bets against them and loses

Top-ranked Argentina beat 48th-ranked Canada 2-0 in the Copa America semifinal on Tuesday with goals by Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez — but social media seems more focused on trolling Drake for betting against Argentina.

The Toronto-based rapper placed a $300,000 bet on Canada to beat Argentina in the semifinals, which would have earned him $2.88 million if it paid off. According to CBS Sports, Argentina was listed as the -340 favorites (a bet of $340 would win someone $100) on the 90-minute money line in the odds prior to the game, with Canada being the +1100 underdogs.

In the opening game of the tournament last month, La Albiceleste beat the Canadians 2-0 (with goals from Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez). Still, Canada was unbeaten in three games since that defeat, so  more than a few thought the team had a fighting chance.

Shortly after Canada’s loss, Argentina’s national soccer team shared a team photo to their social media accounts with the phrase “Not Like Us” — a reference to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track against Drake, which was released as part of a back-and-forth beef between the two rappers a few months ago.

And more than a few users took some digs at Drake…

“Drake really been losing in all areas lately. clearly “Not Like Us” and Not with us after losing $300k” one user wrote. While another said “”Best admin ever. Kendrick Lamar must be very proud bro.”

Others shared some cringe GIFs…

Next up, Colombia will play Argentina in Sunday’s final, while Uruguay will play Canada in Saturday night’s third-place match game.
