Since Gerhard opened its doors in 2013, its focus has been to push Canadian designs and clothing that have been made in the country. Over the past year, the store has curated a large selection of casual streetwear for men, veering away from suits, which once dominated the shop’s racks. Described as “upscale casual” by owner Langton Willms, the cuts are polished and the pants are usually, if not always, tapered.
Look for soft denims by Outclass ($209), fitted linen shirts by Metsa ($195) and athletic hoodies by Muttonhead ($132).
New arrivals include raincoats from Vancouver’s ever-popular Arc’teryx Veilance, which offers up a wide range of waterproof jackets that exude classic minimalism to a T, with coated zippers and seams that guarantee you’ll stay dry ($480–$695).
