Clued-up Forest Hill gals have set their sights on a new Upper Village fashion destination: Crimson and Clover. On paper it seems like co-owners Ellé Marks and Diane Alperin would make great fodder for an odd couple movie. “We’re a baby boomer–millennial power team,” jokes Marks.
The shop is loaded with a riot of furs, dresses and scarves, while jewels line the shelves. They even offer Janice Carol cosmetic services; shoppers can complete their looks with a professional makeup application. The trove of treasures is also almost entirely small-batch produced, which means almost no one else is likely to be seen wearing that same dyed fox infinity scarf ($195) or that Betty Draper–style dress ($210).
