Ella’s Uncle
Toronto, ON M6J 2P8
Restaurant Categories
This coffee shop/bakery has been playing retro tunes and baking some of the city’s best oatmeal cookies for over 16 years. Ella’s Uncle oozes cool. When you walk into the vibrant café, the lime green walls and black and white tiles entrance you and make you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. Wafts of freshly baked treats and coarsely ground coffee dance under your nose to the symphony of sounds that encapsulate this small coffee shop. When Ella’s Uncle opened in 2003, the space was quite small, but with the addition of the second storefront, therein the bakery, this has become more than just a coffee shop. The baked goods are a draw for most regulars in the area who come in and visit the small shop whenever they have a chance. If you're lucky, something fresh out of the oven will be plated when you arrive. If not, Ella’s Uncle has free Wi-Fi, so feel free to wait it out until you hear the timer buzz.
