In a press release, Uniqlo said that it plans to open more than 20 stores across North America this year. This will be the eighth location in the GTA (which includes the Toronto Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre locations that opened in 2016) and its 20th store in Canada.

The brand also plans to open at Scarborough Town Centre in the GTA, Market Mall in Calgary, and Bayshore Shopping Centre in Ottawa this spring.

“We couldn’t be more excited to enter the next phase of our North American expansion plan and serve more customers in the U.S. and Canada,” Daisuke Tsukagoshi, CEO of Uniqlo North America, said in a statement. “Stores are the heartbeat of our business, where we can engage with our local communities, hear directly from our customers, and best understand their needs to continue to improve and perfect our products. We’re looking forward to a big year ahead.”

Originally established as a textiles manufacturer in Yamaguchi, Japan, back in 1949, Uniqlo has since evolved into a global fashion powerhouse. With a presence spanning over 1000 stores worldwide, it’s become a prominent name in the realm of clothing apparel.

The brand began establishing stores in North America in 2005 offering a distinctive guest experience with its innovative lineup of LifeWear for men, women, and kids. Uniqlo’s expansion continues the momentum it initiated in 2022, with plans to reach 200 stores in North America by 2027.

The 15,000-square-foot space will also include clothing from the store’s LifeWear brand for men, women, and kids. Click here to plan your visit to the new Fairview location.
