An exclusive new social club is opening in Toronto but it’s for dogs only

A new social club is launching in the city this fall, and if you’re thinking modern interiors, a dedicated concierge, fancy café and members-only events, you’d be right — but the members will be different than your usual Toronto socialite. Queen West’s Hound House is setting itself apart as the first “canine social collective” in downtown Toronto. Yes, that’s right: it’s a social club for dogs!

If you’re the kind of person who thinks your pet deserves a better life than you do, look no further than this doggy social club, where you and your pup can enjoy an indoor dog park, co-working space, café and bar, shop filled with dog- and human- friendly merchandise and plenty of opportunities to build bonds with all species.

According to their website, Hound House aims to “create an oasis for both pups and their people and redefine the way you work, play, refresh, and connect.” Members can work the day away in the club’s co-working space while their dogs play all day in the supervised off-leash park, which features non-slip flooring. Supervision is provided by “cha-paw-rones,” who monitor all activity in the park and are equipped with “a keen eye for canine body language” to help prevent any conflicts or unsafe situations. The club also has an emergency plan in place and access to veterinary care should any problems arise.

In addition to the park, café, work space and shop, there’s a potty and sanitization station, including a dedicated potty pad, eco-friendly poop bags, Aesop sanitizers and hand balms, all-natural pet wipes, cleaners and “intricate drainage systems and daily deep cleaning” to keep the facility ultra-hygenic. And don’t forget the self-grooming station — an urban pet spa complete with professional-grade brushes and tools, all-natural shampoos, conditioners, and perfumes, de-matting tools and more.

Hound House also offers a dedicated concierge for anything your pup needs, from a puppacino to a daycare reservation.

With plans to open in the fall, membership options include a a monthly version, with access to members-only perks, doggy daycare services for a reduced fee and additional perks. If your pup has two parents, both can be on the same membership for ease of use. For those who aren’t totally sold on the idea of a social club for their pet just yet, there’s also a daily drop-in pass, which gives visitors access to the entire house and all amenities for one full day.

Hound House will be opening at 501 Queen St. W.
