The Tuscan Countryside (Image: Karolyne Ellacott)
At long last, the weather appears to be turning. And at the recently revamped Little Anthony’s — known for wooing the Bay Street crowd with its Italian eats — manager Matt Roulston pours a refreshing Tuscan Countryside ($12.25), redolent of spring.
This tipple is a riff on the classic gin and tonic. A fresh mélange of Bombay Sapphire gin, Limoncello, lime juice, house-made rosemary syrup and, of course, tonic, the beverage is topped with a slice of lime and flagged with a sprig of rosemary.
Sweet at the bottom with a bitter finish, one can’t help but envision sunny villas overlooking lemon groves with every sip.
